• The company health insurance institutions also include those of the German Rail, the German Postal System, the Federal Ministry of Transport and the health insurance extensions in the new German Länder (former GDR); in the earlier territory of the Federal Republic of Germany there are no extensions to the company health insurances.
• The trade guild health insurances also have health insurance extensions in the new German Länder; in the earlier territory of the Federal Republic of Germany there are no extensions to the trade guild health insurances.
• Since 1 October 2009, the fee schedule positions of several laboratory tests were modified, so that these laboratory tests can only be billed in connection with the fee schedule positions, which are related to measures for the early detection of diseases. This results in an increase of cases for measures for the prevention of diseases according to § 25 (1) SGB starting from 2010.
