• On 1 January 2009 a base tariff, that is uniform for all private health insures companies, was introduced by law. The insurance companies are obliged to insurance certain groups of persons. This applies especially to people without health insurance coverage, who are assigned to the private health insurance. The base tariff replaced the modified standard tariff, whose insured persons were transferred into the base tariff at the beginning of the year 2009.
