Trichinellosis
In terms of the Notifiable Infectious Diseases - data collection by Robert Koch Institute:Trichinosis is caused by the nematode Trichinella spiralis. Humans are infected by eating insufficiently cooked meat, especially wild boar or pork. The ingested larvae are released in the intestine and migrate preferably into muscle cells, where they encapsulate. This can be accompanied first with abdominal pain, later with muscle pain and swelling in the eye area. Because of meat inspections on a regular basis the disease occurs rarely in Germany.
