Employed medical practitioners practitioners and psychotherapists
In terms of the Federal Medical Registry of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians:
Employed medical practitioners and psychotherapists are composed of employed medical practitioners and psychotherapists in independent practices and employed medical practitioners and psychotherapists in facilities.
The employed doctors and psychotherapists in independent practices are divided into:
- employed medical practitioners and psychotherapists in independent practice without service restriction
- employed medical practitioners and psychotherapists in independent practice with service restriction: If a medical practitioner with an own practice under contract to the statutory health insurance hires a physician for his practice in a blocked planning district, then the service volume of the previous practice may not be significantly expanded.
Not included in the statistics of employed practitioners are assistants for further training, securing and relief. While the further training assistants do not have the required specialist status in the statutory medical care, the securing and relief assistants rather help to support existing contract physician structures which are already taken into account in the statistics.
Employed medical practitioners and psychotherapists in facilities are composed of employed medical practitioners and psychotherapists in
- medical care centres (MVZ), the most significant type of facility,
- facilities according to section nach § 400 SGB V (ehemals § 311 SGB V the former polyclinics in the new federal Länder)
- own facilities of the Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians
- municipal own facilities.
The separate designation of employees in facilities with limited services is waived here, as less than 1 percent of employees in facilities are affected.
