Curettage
In terms of the statistics of pregnancy terminations of the Federal Statistical Office:Curettage is the extraction or removal of a biological substrate from the inner surface of a hollow organ or a cavity caused by an illness by means of a curette (blunt or sharp special surgical spoon, full or fenestrated). In the proper sense as uterus curettage for diagnostic purposes or as therapeutical curettage, such as removal of abort relics. A curettage is to be done under general anaesthetic.
