Accident insurance institutions
In terms of the statutory accident insurance in Germany:Accident insurance institutions are the employers liability insurance associations ("gewerbliche Berufsgenossenschaften") and the Seamen's Accident Prevention and Insurance Assocation, the agricultural employer's liability insurance association ("landwirtschaftliche Berufsgenossenschaft"), the accident insurance institutions of the public sector, the fire fighters' accident insurances, the railway accident insurance as well as the accident insurance mail and Telekom.
Der Hauptverband der gewerblichen Berufsgenossenschaften (HVBG) und der Bundesverband der Unfallkassen (BUK) sind zum 01. Juni 2007 fusioniert zur Deutschen Gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung (DGUV). Daneben bleiben die landwirtschaftlichen Berufsgenossenschaften weiter mit eigenem Dachverband bestehen.
