Campylobacter enteritis

Bacteria of the genus campylobacter cause of an intestinal infection, which typically is accompanied by abdominal pain and watery, sometime bloody diarrhoea. The transmission to humans takes place especially via animal foods (meat from poultry, raw milk) and pets. As rare complications Guillain-Barré Syndrome (a nerve disease with signs of paralysis) can occur and also arthritides.
