Children, child

In terms of the Microcensus of the Federal Statistical Office:
Children are unmarried persons without life partner and without own children in the household, who live together in a family with at least one of their parents. In the microcensus are considered as children - besides biological children, also stepchildren, adopted children and foster children, if the above conditions are fulfilled. An age limit for children doesn't exist in the microcensus. Children, who still live in a household together with their parents, but already look after their own children, as well as children, who are married or live in a life partnership are not considered part of their family of origin, but are counted statistically as a separate family or life form.
