Cholesterol

In terms of the health report for Germany, 1998:
hydrocarbon compound (steroid alcohol). Cholesterol is a component of all body cells, intake via nutrition as well as the body's own production in the liver. Human blood serum contains approx. 200-290 mg/dl total cholesterol, depending on age. Alongside other factors, cholesterol plays a role in the development of arteriosclerosis.
