Disposable income

In terms of the National Accounts of the Federal Statistical Office:
The disposable income of the private households (expenditure concept) results from the fact, that on the one hand the monetary social benefits and other current transfers, which the private households mainly receive from the state are added to the primary income; however, on the other hand income and property taxes, social contributions and other current transfers, which have to be paid by the private households, are deducted. The disposable income of the private households is equal to the income which finally goes to the private households and which they can use for consumption and saving purposes.
