Fixed sum
In terms of the health report for Germany, 1998:An instrument of price organization introduced by the Health Reform Act (Gesundheitsreformgesetz) for pharmaceuticals as well as aids and appliances prescribed at the expense of the statutory health insurance (GKV). In the pharmaceutical guidelines, the Federal Committee of Medical Practitioners and Health Insurance determines for which groups of pharmaceuticals fixed sums can be laid down. Today fixed sums also apply to dentures or certain fillings when the costs are submitted to the statutory health insurance.
