In terms of the Microcensus of the Federal Statistical Office:
The graduation from a university of applied sciences - also certificate from a school of engineering - includes the study at universities of applied sciences (excluding administrative colleges). Equivalent are also the erstwhile studies at professional secondary schools (Höhere Fachschulen) for social affairs, social education, economics and so on and at a "Polytechnikum" as well as erstwhile schools of engineering.
