Leprosy

In terms of the Notifiable Infectious Diseases - data collection by Robert Koch Institute:
Leprosy is caused by mycobacterium leprae. The agent seems to be limited to humans, an animal reservoir is not known. After an incubation period from 9 months to a maximum of 20 years very different clinical symptoms can occur. This includes skin affections and nerve damages, which can lead to sensory disturbances and paralysis.
