Listeriosis

In terms of the Notifiable Infectious Diseases - data collection by Robert Koch Institute:
Diseases caused by the bacterium listeria monocytogenes occur in different forms. Especially in older or immune-deficient patients sepsis and inflammations of meninges or of the brain occur. Infections during pregnancy can lead to abortive birth, stillbirth or damages of the child. Listeria is transmitted for example via raw milk products (cheese), raw smoked fish and raw sausages.
