Microcensus

In terms of the Microcensus of the Federal Statistical Office:
The Microcensus is the official representative statistics about the population and the labour market. 1% of all households in Germany ("small population census") are annually involved. Altogether, about 390,000 households with 830,000 persons take part in the microcensus. The microcensus has been realized since 1957 - in the New Länder since 1991 -. The organizational and technical preparation takes place in the Federal Statistical Office. The realisation of the interviews and the processing takes place in the Statistical Offices of the Länder (decentralized statistics).
