Negative list
In terms of the health report for Germany, 1998:Pharmaceuticals classified in the negative list may not be prescribed at the expense of the statutory health insurance (GKV). This involves such pharmaceuticals where the therapeutic benefits have not been proven, or the effects of which cannot be judged with sufficient safety because of the large number of active ingredients, or which contain ingredients unnecessary for the aim of the therapy or for reducing risks.
