Population - reference date

In terms of the Population Statistics of the Federal Statistical Office:
The reference date population includes all persons, who have their (permanent) place of residence in the federal territory on December, 31, of the respective year ("Inländer"). An exception are the members of the foreign armed forces as well as the members of the diplomatic and consular representations with their families.
