Prevention

In terms of the Medical Review Board of the Leading Associations of the health insurance funds e.V.:
The health service still works too much in repairing damages that have already occurred. That should change. To prevent diseases, health insurances have the possibility to finance disease prophylaxis or health promotion. Health insurances can now offer their members quality guaranteed courses, for example for the prevention of back pain or smoking cessation. In addition, health insurances shall assist self-help groups, organisations and information offices, which have set themselves the aim of prevention and rehabilitation of diseases. Self-help groups support people concerned in overcoming diseases by means of common exchange of experience.
