Rabies

In terms of the Notifiable Infectious Diseases - data collection by Robert Koch Institute:
Rabies is caused by a virus, which is transmitted by the salvia of infected animals. The transmission in humans takes place via bite or via contamination of wounds or grazes. Rabies can be prevented by vaccination - even after the infection. It is fatal though, as soon as the typical symptoms have occurred (spasms, photophobia and dislike of water).
