Reckonable periods

In terms of the Statistics on those actively insured of the German Annuity Insurance Federation:
Reckonable periods are periods, in which no contributions were paid, but which are still considered for the fulfilment of the waiting period of 35 years and for the pension calculation as periods in terms of insurance law. These are for example periods, in which the person insured was unable to work because of an illness, or was not insured due to pregnancy or maternity protection, during the protection period according to the Maternity Protection Act or during periods of unemployment or periods, when the person has attended a school respectively a professional school or university after the age of 17.
