Viral haemorrhagic fever (Hanta), Hantavirus-Erkrankungen

Viral haemorrhagic fever viruses are covered RNA-viruses, which belong to the family of bunyaviridae. The virus is excreted by rodents via saliva, urine or faeces. Transmission to humans is by inhalation of aerosoles, contact of injured skin with contaminated dust or bites. The infection leads, in dependence of the serotype, to symptoms with different severity right up to life-threatening febrile courses of disease with massive bleeding tendency. Kidney participation is common.
