Definition(s)

Comment(s)

  • Until 2008 in the Microcensus the graduation from primary school (Volks-/Hauptschule) was interpreted as the lowest possible form of graduation in Germany. From 2009, persons with graduation from primary school (Volks-/Hauptschule) after no more than 7 years attendance at school are counted as "persons without general school certificate".
  • Until 2004 the data of the microcensus have been divided into "Former Federal Republic" and "New Länder and East-Berlin". Starting from 2005 the subareas are defined differently. The "Former Federal Republic" is shown excluding Berlin and the "New Länder" are shown including Berlin. These data are listed in a sparate Ad-hoc-table - General schooling 1991 to 2004 - see "links".
