Yellow fever
In terms of the Notifiable Infectious Diseases - data collection by Robert Koch Institute:The yellow fever virus belong to the family of flaviviridae and is endemic in tropical Africa as well as in tropical South America. It is transmitted by mosquitoes. The disease is characterised by high fever, muscle pain, back pain and headache. In severe courses of disease an inflammation of the liver with jaundice, damage of different organs as well as internal and external bleeding (haemorrhage) occurs. In those cases mortality can be 60 to 70 percent. A vaccination is available.
