Cryptosporidiosis
In terms of the Notifiable Infectious Diseases - data collection by Robert Koch Institute:Cryptosporidiosis is an intestinal infection, which is caused by the parasite cryptosporidium parvum. The parasite is excreted by infected domestic animals, cattle and humans via faeces and is transmitted via polluted water and food. Normally the disease heals after weeks with continued abdominal pain and diarrhoea. But in cases of immunodeficient patients severe chronic and perhaps fatal courses of disease can occur.
