The Federal Health Reporting (GBE-Bund) is a joint responsibility of the Robert Koch Institute and the Federal Statistical Office. The Robert Koch Institute is responsible for the scientific input and coordination of Federal Health Reporting. The Federal Statistical Office is in charge of operating the documentation centre for Health Data, which forms the core of this website. In carrying out this task, the Federal Statistical Office receives financial support from the Bundesministerium für Gesundheit (Federal Ministry of Health). The overall political responsibility for the Federal Health Reporting lies with the Federal Ministry of Health.

Personal Data

Other data are collected automatically by our IT systems whenever you visit the website. Most of these are technical data such as your IP address (which is however anonymized immediately), internet browser, operating system or the time when the page is accessed. These data are collected automatically when you enter our website. This helps us to provide our data on the internet, which is one of the public tasks we have to carry out. The relevant legal basis is point (e) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR, in conjunction with Section 3 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and Section 3 of the E-Government Act (EGovG).

 

 

Access to our website

 

Every time a user visits the website of the Federal Statistical Office and every time a file is accessed, information about that operation is stored in anonymised form and processed.

 

The following data are saved with each access:

 

  • the IP address of your computer or of the proxy server, if you access our pages via a proxy
  • the page from which the file was called
  • the name of the file called,
  • the date, time and duration of the call,
  • the amount of data transferred,
  • the type of browser you are using and
  • the status of the call (for example file transferred, file not found).

 

These data are only evaluated statistically and for the purpose of optimising the website, after which they are deleted. We do not create user profiles.

 

 

Enquiries and orders via our customer and user service

 

In addition to the information supplied on our website, we offer various services you may use. If you are interested, you will in most cases have to supply further personal data. These will be used to provide the respective service and are subject to the above data processing principles.

 

We collect and store electronically the personal data you enter into the contact form. We require these data to respond to your enquiry in the performance of our public tasks as laid down in point (e) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR, in conjunction with Section 3 of the BDSG. The data contained in your enquiry will be anonymised and used for user analysis in order to optimise the range of information we offer.

 

In addition, we store your data for the purpose of managing customer relationships (for instance, to help us respond effectively to further enquiries) or for conducting customer surveys. Enquiries by e-mail or phone

 

If you make enquiries by e-mail or phone, we will store your data in our customer management system for the purpose of responding to your enquiry. We do this to perform our public tasks in accordance with point (e) Article 6 (1) of the GDPR in conjunction with Section 3 of the BDSG.

 

 

Newsletter

 

We offer you the option to register as a recipient of our newsletter. To do so, you must provide your e-mail address. We use your e-mail address exclusively for the purpose of sending you the Federal Health Reporting newsletter. The distribution of the newsletter and the storage of your e-mail address are based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1) lit. (e) of the GDPR. You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect. If you unsubscribe from all newsletters, your e-mail address will be deleted. Your e-mail address will not be passed on to third parties. You are entitled to the rights listed below in relation to your e-mail address, provided the relevant legal requirements are met.

 

 

Passing on personal data to third parties

 

Log data that are generated when the website of Federal Health Monitoring (https://www.gbe-bund.de/gbe/) is accessed will be passed on to third parties only if the Federal Statistical Office is required to do so by law or court decision or where such transmission is needed for law enforcement and criminal prosecution purposes in the event of attacks on our internet infrastructure. In such cases, the data will be passed to the Federal Information Technology Centre (Informationstechnikzentrum Bund), the central service provider of the federal administration. We will not pass on data for other non-commercial or commercial purposes.

 

 

Protection of minors

 

Persons under the age of 18 should not transmit any personal data to us without the consent of their parents or legal guardians. We do not request any personal data from children or adolescents. We do not collect such data deliberately and do not pass them on.
