This table includes all crime codes with reported victims.
Effective from January 1, 2008 the Police Criminal Statistics was changed from a uniform nationwide four-digit to a six-digit crime code.
Errors in recording:
Crime code 110000: 65 cases in 2007 are not declared in the subdivision.
Crime code 111000: 3 cases in 2006 and 1 case in 2007 are not declared in the subdivision.
Crime code 211000: 100 cases in 2001, 5 cases in 2002, 1 case in 2003 are not declared in the subdivision.
Crime code 211100: Excess recording of 40 cases in 2003.
Crime code 231000: 24 cases in 2006 are not declared in the subdivision.
Crime codel 232000: 368 cases in 2007 are not declared in the subdivision.
Crime code 236000: In 2006 the number of cases is 50 cases too low. These cases are reported in the no longer valid crime code 144000.
Crime code 236100: In 2006 the number of cases is 34 cases too low. These cases are reported in the no longer valid crime code 144100.
Because of technical reasons of the software in one federal state 7,335 cases of the federal police couldn't be included into the database of the Police Criminal Statistics in 2008.
With th "Fiftieth Amendment to the Criminal Code - Improvement of the protection of sexual self-determination" of 04 November 2016, the law governing sexual offences has been amended by new criminal offences and existing criminal offences were modified. In the Police Criminal Statistics (PCS) catalogue of offences first implementations took place as early as 2017. Further modifications will take effect in the PCS catalogue 2018. The consequence of this is that the comparison of offences against the sexual self-determination with the previous years is not possible or only possible to a limited extent.
From 1987 to 1990 the figures are for the Federal Republic of Germany prior to the reunification; from 1991 to 1992, the statistics also cover Berlin and beginning in 1993 the statistics cover the territory of the entire Federal Republic of Germany (after reunification).
Bavaria is not included in the crime codes 111400, 111500 and 131300 to 131800 in 1999 and 2000, neither in the codes 232100 to 232300 in 1999 to 2001, neither in the code 213200 in 2002 and 2003.
In 2016, the crime code 143400 was transcoded to the crime code 143211. Therefore, starting from 2016, the crime code 143400 is no longer used.
In 2016, the crime codes 143211 and 143500 were newly include. The crime codes 111100, 111200, 111300, 111400, 111500 and 112000 will be abolished as from 2018; the crime codes 111700, 111800 and 111900 have been newly added.
